Wemap team developed a new navigation system with deep links for your maps. Called Deep Linking, this system allows to navigate throughout the tree of an application with specific links (URL).
Access and sharing of a point, an event, a list or a filtered search is now easier. Thanks to Deep Linking, you can share a precise area of a map (filtered or not) just with its URL.
If you want to share a point you are reading, you just have to copy its link in your browser's search bar (highlighted in yellow on the screenshot). You can also click on the "Share" petal, around point's shape, on mapview (yellow circle on screenshot).
Deep Linking contributed to improve the efficiency and modularity of maps re-embed. As an example, if you are filtering a map by zooming in Paris with "Famille" tag, when you click on "Share this mapview", you obtain a snippet you can copy and paste in an article of your website. The result will be a map zoomed on a specific area, with "Famille" tag already activated. You can watch this video which shows this scenario.
It multiplies the accesses to a content and allows you to guide your visitors more precisely on your website. There are many possibilities: you can readily create, from an only map, several filtered maps you can embed in different sections of your website.
Don't hesitate to test it by yourself by searching on a map, and clicking on "Share this view" button.
You can also share a link to a precise point by copying the URL displayed in your browser's search bar. Yiu can discover this system on Saison Culturelle's map, created by french Ministry of Culture and Communication.
