An user can quickly feel lost on a map with a lot of content. To avoid this, we developed a customizable welcome module. It opens when user lands on a map and invite him to pick some preferences to filter content on the map.
This is how it looks like:
We created several sub-modules:
- Where? allows user to select an address through a search engine to center the map on a city.
- When? activates a calendar to select dates (cf. Screenshot : from 5th to 9th of April).
- Preferences : this module displays a tags' list defined by each customer; users can activate one or several tags to filter the map (cf. Screenshot: "Spectacle" tag selected).
- Around me: displays points located around the user's geographical position.
Our welcome module is very intuitive and allows the user to be guided and filter the map's content easily to keep only what he is interested in. The user lands on a mapview which is adapted to what he was looking for.
Here is the result, whith the map filtered by dates (from 5th to 9th April) and tag ("Spectacle") :
The strength of our module? It's entirely configurable. You can choose an introduction text, a banner's image, and filters you want to propose (geolocation, dates, tags and places' search) and its recurrence (display it only at the first visit, or each time).
